About This Project
Connolly Barracks, Solas Training Centre (LWETB)– RER Electrical & Solar Ltd collaborated with Elliott Properties Ltd whereby we were appointed as the main electrical contractor for the upgrade works at the Solas Training Centre, which caters for 56 students. The project ran from May to December 2025. Our role involved carrying out a full modernisation of the electrical infrastructure throughout the facility. This included upgrading:

Renewing Cabling and Containment
Installing new Power Supplies for General Services
We installed a new lighting system with energy-efficient LED fittings.
The fire-alarm installation was upgraded to current standards, with new detectors, sounders, and control interfaces and also included the integration of a Vesda early warning smoke system.
In addition, we installed Access Control and CCTV systems, implemented Fibre Optic data cabling, and upgraded general data and communications infrastructure to support the centre’s training and administrative requirements.
All works were fully tested, commissioned, and certified, ensuring a safe, modern, and reliable electrical installation delivered with minimal disruption to the facility.
A wireless lighting control system was installed throughout the training centre, allowing users to easily manage and adjust lighting without the need for traditional hard-wired controls. The system enables full dimming and the creation of customised lighting scenes to suit different training environments and activities. It can be operated via wall-mounted interfaces or mobile devices, offering flexible, energy-efficient, and user-friendly control across the facility.
